Reception

A huge welcome to Class 1

Thank you for visiting our class web page. Below is some useful information that you will need about your child's learning journey through their Early Years schooling. If you are considering joining our wonderful school community you would love to be able to share our Early Years environment and ethos with you which is based on our whole school vision of children Being Brave, Being Strong and Being Fearless.

We are very fortunate to have a very large early years environment, both inside and outside, for the children to learn through their play. We use a mixture of whole class teaching, small adult directed work, adults modelling good play and learning and activities set out for them to complete to embed whole class teaching steps. The time they spent in Continuous Provision is referred to as COOL time as we  'Carrying On Our Learning' where activities are provided for them to embed the learning from our whole class sessions.

Our PE lessons take place on alternate Mondays.

Every day in school your child should have;

  • A water bottle
  • A book bag with their reading book and reading diary inside
  • Wellies
  • A waterproof coat or...
  • A warm coat, hat and gloves in the winter months or...
  • A sun hat in the summer/hot weather and sun cream (to be applied at home. We recommend the 8 hour protection creams

Please make sure that all items are clearly labelled!
